About the Journal

Ius Novum

Quarterly of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Lazarski University

Lazarski University Publishing House

Ius Novum is an all-Poland scientific journal presenting analytical articles on the science of law, in particular of the countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The topics discussed in the journal include basic areas of law, first of all constitutional law, civil law and procedure, criminal law and procedure, administrative law and procedure, financial law, business law, and international law.

The journal is aimed at creating a modern forum for exchange of and debate about the opinions of scholars representing jurisprudence by popularising research results at the domestic and international level that take into account the significance of the impact of legal studies on the social and economic environment of Central and Eastern Europe.

The articles published in the journal are original scientific papers of considerable cognitive value for all representatives of legal science and practice and they can be of interest not only for domestic but also, or even first of all, for international scientific circles. The journal presents, in particular, innovative dogmatic analyses of the legal solutions in force, forecasts for directions of development in various areas of law, legal evaluation of new social phenomena, assessment of the quality of law enactment and application, signals of the efficiency of the adopted legal regulations, problems concerning legal certainty, as well as empiric research findings of great social importance.

The journal is open not only to the scientific and teaching staff of Lazarski University but also representatives of jurisprudence from other academic centres in the milieu of international scientific society. We welcome independent scholars with recognised achievements as well as young scientists who wish to contribute their interesting and innovative input into a discourse on law.

The quarterly publishes works in the form of original articles using research apparatus and, exceptionally, glosses concerning and resolving especially significant scientific issues.

In the period 2019-2020, the journal was a beneficiary of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education programme 'Support for scientific journals' ['Wsparcie dla czasopism naukowych']. In the periods 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 the English version of the quarterly was financed within the programme 'Activities popularising science'' [Działąlność upowszechniająca naukę' (DUN)].

In accordance with the Announcement of the Minister of Science of 5 January 2024 about the list of scientific journals and reviewed materials from international conferences, Ius Novum was granted 100 points (item 30019, no. 200245).
